03Choosing between options
Choosing between handyman options
Not sure if you need a handyman or a specialist? Here's the line we draw.
| Option | Pick if… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Single-Item Visit | You have one specific repair or install | Book by the hour for a focused job — no minimum project size. |
| Half-Day Punch List | You have 3–5 small jobs waiting | Cheaper per job than booking separately; we knock out the list in one visit. |
| Full-Day Project | You have a larger install or multiple rooms | Best for bigger assembly, mounting, or repair work that needs dedicated time. |
| Specialist Referral | The job involves plumbing lines, electrical panels, or structural work | We refer to licensed plumbers, electricians, or contractors when code and safety require it. |
Pro tip
Use the right anchor for the weight
A plastic wall anchor in drywall will fail under a heavy mirror or TV. We always find a stud for heavy loads or use toggle bolts when studs aren't available. The extra five minutes is what keeps your mounted TV on the wall for years.

06Ask a pro
Real answers from our crew.
Handyman questions we answer before we pick up a drill.
- QWhat jobs do you handle vs. a licensed contractor?
- We handle repairs, installs, assembly, and cosmetic work. For moving plumbing lines, electrical panels, load-bearing walls, or full remodels, we refer to the appropriate licensed specialist.
- QDo you charge by the hour or by the job?
- We can do either. Small jobs are hourly; larger punch lists get a flat half-day or full-day rate so you know the cost upfront.
- QCan you mount my TV and hide the cords?
- Yes, as long as there's a safe path. We find studs, use proper anchors, and conceal cords with in-wall kits or raceways where appropriate.
- QDo I need to buy materials?
- You can, or we can pick up standard hardware and bill it back. We'll tell you exactly what's needed before we start.
- QHow do I prepare for a handyman visit?
- Clear the work area and make a list. Photos help us quote accurately and bring the right parts on the first trip.
- QIs there a minimum charge?
- Yes, we have a one-hour minimum. After that, time is billed in smaller increments so you don't overpay for quick jobs.
